ITS Supplement-B (100X), 5mL

A defined, animal-component-free cell culture supplement combining insulin, human transferrin, and sodium selenite at a 100X concentration. Add directly to serum-free and reduced-serum basal media: 1 mL of supplement per 100 mL of medium prepares up to 500 mL of complete working solution from a single 5 mL vial.

Insulin supports glucose uptake and acts as a mitogenic signal, transferrin chelates iron for safe cellular delivery, and selenium functions as an antioxidant cofactor through selenoprotein activity. This combination supports long-term proliferation of cell lines maintained under serum-reduced conditions, including hybridomas, CHO cells, and various primary cultures. The animal-component-free formulation reduces batch-to-batch variability often associated with animal serum.

Supplied as a 5 mL liquid in a single-use vial. Store frozen at -20 degrees C for long-term stability, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting upon first use.
