The 5 mL vial also contributes fatty-acid-bound BSA, linoleic acid, and oleic acid, supplying lipid precursors and iron-binding capacity favored for primary hepatocytes, mesenchymal stromal cells, and continuous lines adapted to serum-free workflows.

For handling, store the unopened vial frozen at -20°C protected from light to preserve insulin bioactivity; aliquot into smaller working volumes to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
