ImmunoCult-XF B Cell Base Medium

Supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, this base medium is formulated as a core component of the ImmunoCult Mouse B Cell Expansion Kit for the in vitro culture and expansion of mouse splenic B cells. When combined with the ImmunoCult-ACF Mouse B Cell Expansion Supplement, it produces complete Mouse B Cell Expansion Medium that supports consistent activation and expansion of mouse B cells and their maturation to plasmablasts or plasma cells.

Using B cells isolated from mouse spleen with the EasySep Mouse Pan-B Cell Isolation Kit, the complete medium supported 176.9 ± 29.8-fold expansion after 9 days of culture (mean ± SEM, n = 8). Cells can be harvested and used directly in downstream applications after 6 - 9 days in culture. The kit does not support thawed frozen mouse pan-B cells.

The medium is stored at 2 - 8°C and remains stable until the expiry date on the label. It contains material derived from human plasma; donors have been tested and found negative for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and HIV-1 antibodies and/or HIV-1 antigen, so it should be considered potentially infectious and handled using universal precautions. Undissolved precipitates can be observed in the medium.
