Human Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-ß1). The assay uses a pre-coated monoclonal antibody specific for TGF-ß1 immobilised on a 12 x 8 well strip microplate, with detection via a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody and Avidin–HRP conjugate. After addition of a TMB substrate solution, the enzyme–substrate reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution and the colour change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm.

Validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant and other biological fluids, the kit shows no cross-reactivity with other cytokines tested and recognises both natural and recombinant human TGF-ß1. Two calibration diluents are supplied — Calibrator Diluent I for serum/plasma testing and Calibrator Diluent II for cell culture supernatant testing — and standards are prepared using a 2-fold dilution series to generate an Optical Density standard curve.

The quantitative sandwich immunoassay has a working range of 9–2500 pg/ml and a sensitivity of < 9 pg/ml. The colourimetric assay is read on a standard microplate reader, with a total assay time of 3h 30m. The kit is shipped and stored at 4°C.
