HOT FIREPol® Multiplex qPCR Mix

From Solis BioDyne, this 5x qPCR master mix is formulated for amplifying multiple targets in a single real-time quantitative PCR reaction. It is optimized for DNA hydrolysis probes that rely on 5' flap endonuclease activity and supplies every component required for qPCR apart from primers, probes, and template.

The mix contains HOT FIREPol® DNA Polymerase, a 5x Multiplex qPCR buffer, 15 mM MgCl2 (giving 3 mM at 1x), and dNTPs including dUTP, which allows optional UNG treatment to prevent carryover contamination. UNG enzyme is not included and must be purchased separately. The polymerase is activated by a 10-minute incubation at 95°C, an extended hot-start step that suppresses extension of non-specifically annealed primers and primer-dimers formed during reaction setup.

Typical applications include detection and quantification of DNA and cDNA targets, gene expression profiling, microbial detection, and viral load determination. The manufacturer recommends reaction setup at room temperature and routine storage between -18°C and -28°C.
