General Homocysteine ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com, intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Homocysteine in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate, in which Homocysteine in samples or standards competes with immobilized antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Homocysteine Antibody. Detection is via an HRP-Avidin conjugate with TMB substrate, and the absorbance is read at 450 nm.

The assay range is 12.5–800 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <5.1 ng/ml, and total assay time is 2h 30m. Recovery in serum averages 91% (range 80–102%, n=5), in EDTA plasma 90% (range 81–100%, n=5), and in heparin plasma 84% (range 80–89%, n=5). The kit is designed for use with a colorimetric microplate reader, and components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
