This magnetic separation rack from STEMCELL Technologies provides hands-free erythrocyte depletion from up to 16 single-cell suspensions run in parallel, making it a practical tool for sample preparation ahead of flow cytometry and single-cell sequencing workflows. The unit accepts standard 5 mL round-bottom FACS tubes, which sit inside a magnetic array that captures antibody-coated beads binding red blood cells; a brief incubation with the companion ErythroClear reagent leaves untouched nucleated cells in suspension for downstream staining, washing, or direct loading into 10x Genomics or comparable droplet-based platforms.

Researchers working with mouse spleen, bone marrow, or peripheral blood mononuclear preparations benefit from the consistent pellet retention the magnet provides, reducing manual handling steps and shortening total prep time compared with density-gradient centrifugation. The rack is built with a high-grade neodymium magnetic core, and the anodized aluminum housing resists common lab disinfectants such as 70% ethanol. Each station can be loaded individually, and the open-frame design allows tubes to be removed and replaced without disturbing neighboring samples.

For labs running high-throughput immunophenotyping or preparing large cohort samples for scRNA-seq, the device scales linearly: process one tube for pilot studies or fill all 16 positions for batched experiments. It is supplied as a single benchtop unit and is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic procedures. Compatible consumables include standard 5 mL polystyrene tubes and the matching ErythroClear reagent kit.
