Easy 250 EasySep Magnet

From STEMCELL Technologies, the Easy 250 EasySep Magnet is designed for fast and easy human cell isolation from large-volume samples such as full-size leukopaks and whole blood. It uses column-free immunomagnetic EasySep cell isolation technology to process samples of up to 225 mL, or 12 billion cells, in a single step, with isolations completed in as little as 20 minutes.

The magnet generates a magnetic field in its interior cavity strong enough to separate cells labeled with magnetic EasySep particles. When the sample is placed in the magnet, labeled cells are pulled to the sides of the tube while untouched cells can be pipetted off into a new tube, leaving the isolated cells immediately ready for downstream applications. It can be used with a standard T-75 cm² cell culture flask together with EasySep reagents.

By scaling up manual isolations in a single round rather than splitting suspensions, the system reduces reagent usage and handling time. Purities of up to 99% are reported for human cell types isolated from large sample volumes using this approach.
