The manufacturer describes the formulation as intracellular-like and designed to reduce cryopreservation-induced cell injury and improve biopreservation of cells. It is intended for the low temperature storage of biological material.

The base is provided for the preparation of custom cryopreservation solutions and can serve as a defined wash or storage medium in research-scale workflows. According to the safety data sheet, the mixture contains sucrose (CAS 57-50-1) at 1% w/w, with sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide added to adjust pH; the product is not classified as hazardous under GHS.
