CryoStor CSB, 1000 mL Bag

This DMSO-free, intracellular-like base cryopreservation medium from STEMCELL Technologies is supplied in a single-use 1000 mL weldable bag, supporting closed-system, large-volume processing for cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and cord blood banking workflows. Chemically defined, serum-free, animal component-free, and protein-free, CryoStor CSB contains USP/multi-compendial grade components and is cGMP-manufactured under an FDA master file, with sterility, endotoxin, and cell-based release testing performed on every lot. Because CSB is the DMSO-free base formulation of the CryoStor series, users add their own cryoprotectant; for pre-formulated DMSO concentrations, see CryoStor CS2 (2%), CS5 (5%), or CS10 (10%).

Validated cell and tissue types include T cells, B cells, NK cells, monocytes, macrophages, CHO cells, hybridoma and myeloma lines, mesenchymal stromal cells, pluripotent stem cells, intestinal epithelial cells, and hematopoietic progenitor cells isolated from apheresis and cord blood products. A standard slow-rate controlled cooling protocol of approximately -1°C/min is recommended, followed by transfer to the LN2 vapor phase; alternatively, a stepwise schedule of -20°C for 2 hours, then -80°C for 2 hours, then LN2 may be used. Cryopreserved samples are recovered by rapid warming in a 37°C water bath with gentle shaking until all visible ice melts, then immediately diluted in culture medium for plating.
