A uniquely formulated cryopreservation medium from STEMCELL Technologies, containing 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and designed to preserve cells at ultra-low temperatures (-70 to -196°C). This serum-free, animal component-free, and defined medium provides a safe, protective environment for cells and tissues during the freezing, storage, and thawing processes. It is recommended for the cryopreservation of hepatocytes, tissue samples, blood-derived cells, CHO cells, myeloma cell lines, hybridomas, human mesenchymal stem cells, human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and other extremely sensitive cell types.

The ready-to-use formulation mitigates temperature-induced molecular cell stress responses to maximize post-thaw viability and recovery for a variety of immune cell types, including T cells and B cells. Human B cells from 6 different donors cryopreserved in this medium show reproducibly high viability after thawing, as measured by Propidium Iodide staining, ranging from 94.3 - 97.9%.

The medium is cGMP manufactured with USP grade and highest-quality components and is supported by an FDA master file. It undergoes sterility, endotoxin, and cell-based quality control testing and meets USP <71> sterility and USP <85> endotoxin testing standards. Storage is at 2 - 8°C, with protection from prolonged exposure to light.
