Supplied through Antibodies.com as a ready-to-use liquid antigen-HRP conjugate, this Cotinine-4-HRP Antigen is formulated for direct use in ELISA workflows. The product is supplied at 1 mL per vial in a Liquid; Antigen-HRP conjugate form, with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) as the reporter enzyme covalently attached to a synthetic Cotinine-4 derivative. Its intended application is ELISA, where it serves as the enzyme-labelled antigen component in competitive immunoassays used to detect cotinine, the principal nicotine metabolite and a widely accepted biomarker of tobacco exposure. The target is Cotinine-4 (Target Type: Chemical; alternative name: Cotinine-4), making it well suited for pairing with anti-cotinine capture antibodies in matched-pair assay development. According to the manufacturer's specification, the conjugate is buffered in 100 mM Tris base, pH 7.0, supplemented with 100 mM foetal bovine serum (FBS) as a protein stabiliser, together with 0.0016 % gentamicin sulfate and 0.005 % thimerosal as preservative. Because the formulation contains Thimerosal (Merthiolate), classified as a poisonous and hazardous substance, the reagent must be handled only by trained staff and must not be frozen. For routine use, vials should be stored at +4 °C (2–8 °C), where the product remains stable for up to 12 months from the date of manufacture. The conjugate is intended for Research Use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Antibodies.com dispatches the reagent cold-packed to preserve enzymatic activity of the HRP label, and the same lot-to-lot protocol ensures reproducible performance across batches.
