Canine Orexin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com enables quantitative in vitro measurement of canine Orexin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The format uses a pre-coated microplate with an immobilised Orexin-specific capture antibody. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Orexin Antibody, then HRP-Avidin conjugate, and finally TMB substrate. The resulting colour change is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with Orexin concentration calculated from the standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is <6.8 pg/ml with an assay range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Spike-and-recovery (n=5) was 82–102% (average 92%) in serum, 90–100% (average 95%) in EDTA plasma, and 88–100% (average 94%) in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (n=5) was 86–110%, 77–102%, 90–96% and 84–108% for serum; 88–100%, 90–103%, 76–110% and 86–93% for EDTA plasma; and 89–102%, 75–106%, 94–97% and 88–110% for heparin plasma.
