12 mm Transwell Inserts, 48 Inserts

These 0.4 µm pore polyester membrane permeable inserts, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, are designed to support the growth of both anchorage-dependent and anchorage-independent cells. Manufactured under the Costar® brand as 12 mm Transwell® inserts, they are recommended for culturing airway epithelial cells at the air-liquid interface and are also suitable for basolateral feed cell culture and co-culture systems. They are available in a kit that includes PneumaCult™-ALI Medium.

Transwell® Inserts have been validated for use with PneumaCult™-ALI, supporting the generation of a pseudostratified mucociliary epithelium from human airway epithelial cells with superior morphology and epithelial cell marker expression. The inserts demonstrate low lot-to-lot variability, helping to ensure reproducible results.

The plate, lid, and transwell body are constructed from clear, transparent polystyrene, while the membrane is made of transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that has been tissue culture-treated. The plate conforms to a standard plate footprint, and the inserts conform to standard well dimensions. The product is sterilized by gamma irradiation. Store at 15 - 25°C; products are stable until the expiry date on the label and are intended for research use only.
