12 mm Cell Culture Inserts, 24 Inserts

These 12 mm polyethylene membrane inserts from CELLTREAT®, available through STEMCELL Technologies, feature a 0.4 µm pore size and are designed for use with multi-well plates in cell and tissue culture.

They support the generation of air-liquid interface (ALI) cultures, enabling human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs) to differentiate into a pseudostratified columnar epithelium with visible cilia and mucus secretion at the apical surface. The inserts also support differentiated intestinal organoid-derived monolayers and Caco-2 cells, which reach full confluence within 3 to 7 days.

Barrier function is optimal, with airway ALI cultures showing TEER values within the expected normal physiological range of 200 - 800 Ω x cm² and intestinal cultures demonstrating values over 200 Ω x cm² after 7 days.
