Supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a 50 mg vial of lyophilized powder, this dihydrochloride salt of the selective Rho-associated coiled-coil kinase (ROCK) inhibitor Y-27632 is a small-molecule tool routinely used in stem cell biology. The compound targets the catalytic domains of ROCK1 (IC50 approx. 0.22 uM) and ROCK2 and is commonly reconstituted in sterile distilled water to a 10 mM stock for addition to culture media at a working concentration near 10 uM.

Primary research applications include enhancing post-thaw viability of dissociated human pluripotent stem cells (hESCs, iPSCs), supporting single-cell passaging, improving cloning efficiency, and stabilizing intestinal and epithelial organoid cultures. The inhibitor is also used in primary hepatocyte, corneal endothelial, and neural progenitor systems, where it suppresses dissociation-induced apoptosis (anoikis) and supports three-dimensional culture workflows.

Reconstitute the vial contents in sterile distilled water, aliquot into single-use tubes to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store the working stock frozen at -20 degrees C protected from moisture. The dihydrochloride salt form improves aqueous solubility relative to the free base, simplifying preparation of consistent working stocks for routine cell culture.

For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
