Vacuum-based nucleic acid purification workflows depend on reliable flow control at each manifold port. The disposable VacValve Tool from QIAGEN provides that control as a single-unit consumable accessory for vacuum manifolds such as the QIAvac line used in plasmid minipreps, PCR cleanup, gel extraction, and other column-based molecular biology procedures.
It replaces traditional stopcocks, letting the operator switch between loading, washing, and elution steps without breaking the line vacuum. The tool fits standard Luer connections and supports the typical vacuum range of approximately 100 to 800 mbar applied during filtration-based nucleic acid isolation. By sealing unused ports, it also directs flow to selected columns and prevents cross-contamination between samples processed in parallel.
Each pack contains one VacValve Tool ready to install directly into the manifold. The disposable format is suited to research use only molecular biology and genomics laboratories handling DNA, RNA, and plasmid purification, and it pairs naturally with QIAGEN spin columns and vacuum processing protocols.
