The STEMvision Mouse MethoCult Bundle pairs the STEMvision automated imaging system with Mouse MethoCult methylcellulose-based medium, supporting in vitro colony-forming unit (CFU) assays for murine bone marrow and spleen cells.

Researchers seed nucleated cells into 1.1 mL of viscous medium in 35 mm culture dishes, then incubate at 37 °C with 5% CO₂ before placing dishes on the instrument for high-resolution scanning. The system distinguishes erythroid bursts, granulocyte-macrophage, and multipotent colonies without manual microscopy, reducing inter-operator variability across hematopoietic stem cell research workflows.

Pre-formulated Mouse MethoCult medium contains recombinant cytokines including mSCF, mIL-3, mIL-6, and mEpo optimized for mouse progenitor growth, while the STEMvision reader quantifies colonies using a purpose-built algorithm.
