From STEMCELL Technologies, this Annexin V reagent is a laboratory reagent consisting of a protein from the annexin family that binds to membrane phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner. It is intended for use in conjunction with a binding buffer that supplies the optimal calcium concentration required for Annexin V to bind phosphatidylserine on the cell surface, supporting the detection of early-stage cell apoptosis by flow cytometry. The product is supplied as a clear liquid and is for research use only.

In typical workflows, the reagent is combined with viability dyes such as 7-AAD. Representative data illustrate its use with C57BL/6 mouse thymocytes incubated at 37°C with 1 µM dexamethasone overnight, after which the cells are harvested and labeled with the conjugated Annexin V reagent together with 7-AAD for analysis.
