Description

A cell-permeable and selective inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 3 (PARP-3), with a reported IC50 of 0.89 µM (Lindgren et al.). PARP-3 is required for stabilization of the mitotic spindle and is crucial for mitotic progression (Sharif-Askari et al.).

From STEMCELL Technologies, the compound has a CAS number of 1445251-22-8, a chemical formula of C19H19N3O2, a molecular weight of 321.4 g/mol, and a purity of ≥ 98%. Its chemical name is 3,4-dihydro-4-oxo-N-[(1S)-1-phenylethyl]-2-quinazolinepropanamide. It is supplied as a crystalline solid that is stable at -20°C; prolonged exposure to light should be avoided and a desiccant is recommended for long-term storage. The product remains stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. Reported solubility limits are ≤ 50 mM in DMSO and ≤ 620 µM in absolute ethanol. The compound has low solubility in aqueous media, and for use as a cell culture supplement the stock solution should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use, with the final DMSO concentration kept at or below 0.1% to avoid potential cell toxicity.

In published cancer research, it has been shown to enhance vinorelbine-induced microtubule destabilization, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in breast cancer cells (Sharif-Askari et al.). For research use only.
