This WNT pathway inhibitor from STEMCELL Technologies promotes the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) to cardiomyocytes by inhibiting canonical WNT signaling through a mechanism distinct from that of other WNT inhibitors. It supports cardiomyocyte differentiation of human and mouse PSCs when used in combination with BIO, CHIR99021, and XAV939 (Minami et al.).

The compound has the chemical name N-(6-chloro-1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propanamide (CAS 1118807-13-8), with the molecular formula C₁₈H₁₇ClN₂O₃S and a molecular weight of 376.9 g/mol. It is supplied as a crystalline solid with a purity of ≥ 95%.

For storage, the product is stable at -20°C as supplied and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The compound is soluble in DMSO at ≤ 25 mM; for example, a 10 mM stock can be prepared by resuspending in fresh DMSO. The compound has low solubility in aqueous media, and for use as a cell culture supplement, the stock solution should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use.
