The compound inactivates Porcupine, a membrane-bound O-acyltransferase that palmitoylates WNT proteins and is essential for their secretion and signaling, impairing WNT pathway activity in vitro with an IC₅₀ of 40 nM.

It is provided as a crystalline solid with a purity of ≥ 98%. The chemical name is 2-[[3-(4-fluorophenyl)-3,4,6,7-tetrahydro-4-oxothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-2-yl]thio]-N-(6-methyl-2-benzothiazolyl)-acetamide (CAS 687561-60-0), corresponding to the molecular formula C₂₂H₁₇FN₄O₂S₃ and a molecular weight of 484.6 g/mol. Reported solubility limits are ≤ 200 µM in DMSO and ≤ 4.1 mM in DMF, with low solubility in aqueous media. The product is stable at -20°C as supplied when protected from prolonged light exposure and remains stable for 12 months from the date of receipt.

Among its published applications, the compound promotes cardiomyocyte differentiation from human embryonic stem cell-derived mesoderm following treatment with BMP-4 and Activin A.
