Description

Offered by STEMCELL Technologies, this small molecule is an inhibitor of the bromodomain and extra terminal (BET) family of proteins, which recognize acetylated lysine residues through their tandem bromodomains. The compound acts on BRD2, BRD3, and BRD4.

Supplied as a crystalline solid with a purity of ≥ 98%, the compound has a molecular weight of 415.5 g/mol. It is identified by CAS number 1300031-49-5 and the alternative name GSK1210151A. For storage, the product is stable at -20°C as supplied and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light; for long-term storage, a desiccant is recommended. Solubility limits are ≤ 12 mM in DMSO, ≤ 2.4 mM in absolute ethanol, and ≤ 20 mM in DMF. The compound has low solubility in aqueous media, and for use as a cell culture supplement, stock solution should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use. Final DMSO concentration should be kept below 0.1% to avoid potential cell toxicity.

Published applications include reprogramming research, where the compound enhances the conversion of mouse fibroblasts to neurons when used in combination with ISX-9, Forskolin, and CHIR99021. In cancer research, it has been shown to induce early cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in human and mouse MLL-fusion leukemia cell lines by blocking transcription of key genes including BCL2, C-MYC, and CDK6. This product is for research use only and is not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses.
