Mechanistically, the inhibitor acts on the Hedgehog signaling pathway downstream of Smoothened and Suppressor of Fused (SUFU), leading to GLI1 nuclear accumulation, and demonstrates antiproliferative and antitumor activity in vivo. Published research applications include reducing anchorage-independent growth in Ewing sarcoma cells, inhibiting prostate cancer tumor growth, and causing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in acute leukemia T cells.

The product is stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored at -20°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light; for long-term storage, store with a desiccant. Reported solubilities include ~0.5 mg/mL in a 1:1 solution of DMF:PBS (pH 7.2), ~1.1 mg/mL in DMSO, ~2.5 mg/mL in DMF, and ~1.4 mg/mL in EtOH, with low solubility in aqueous media. To prepare a 1 mM stock solution in DMSO, resuspend 1 mg in 2.5 mL of DMSO; stock solutions should be prepared fresh before use.
