Description
Designed for laboratories working with precious nucleic acid samples, this conical-bottom polypropylene tube from Eppendorf combines the handling characteristics of a microcentrifuge tube with a working volume suitable for larger preparations. The tube is manufactured using Eppendorf LoBind® material, which is optimized to maximize recovery of DNA and RNA molecules without relying on a surface coating such as silicone.
The product is lot-certified to the PCR clean purity grade, with independent batch-testing confirming that each lot is free of human DNA, DNase, RNase, and PCR inhibitors. It is rated for centrifugation up to 30,000 × g for molecular biology applications, and its precise lid sealing is designed to keep evaporation rates to a minimum during incubation.
Typical applications include preparation and storage of DNA and RNA samples, sample preparation up to 5 mL, higher-yield nucleic acid isolation, preparation of buffers and mastermixes, cell culture work, and safe cell and tissue lysis, with the format also requiring less storage space than comparable larger vessels. The tube is additionally suited to demanding downstream workflows such as forensic trace analysis, next-generation sequencing (NGS), microarray-based assays, dilution series in quantitative qPCR, and the creation of genomic or oligonucleotide libraries.
