Description

Manufactured by Eppendorf, these 15 mL Conical Tubes in the DNA LoBind variant are single-use tubes made from polypropylene with a high-density polyethylene screw cap. They are designed for preparing, mixing, centrifuging, transporting and storing solid and liquid samples and reagents in training, routine and research laboratories, and are intended for research use only. The products are not suitable for use in diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

The tubes meet high demands on mechanical resistance during centrifugation, temperature resistance and chemical resistance. They feature a graduation indicating the filling quantity and a labeling area for identifying contents. Certified as pyrogen-free, DNase-free, RNase-free and DNA-free, the tubes have a height of 121 mm and a diameter of 17 mm, an operational temperature range of -86 °C to +100 °C, and are not autoclavable. They must not be used with liquid nitrogen.

For low-temperature storage of aqueous samples, the recommended filling volume is 12 mL, equal to 80% of the filling volume, and the tubes should be stored upright in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and UV light. When centrifuged at 4 °C to 25 °C with suitable rotors and, if necessary, adapters for up to 90 minutes using an aqueous sample (density 1.0 g/mL), the tubes can withstand up to 19,500 × g.
