Designed for use in training, routine and research laboratories in the areas of life sciences, industry or chemistry, these Eppendorf single-use 50 mL conical tubes are made from polypropylene and intended for preparing, mixing, centrifuging, transporting and storing solid and liquid samples and reagents. The tubes are for research purposes only and are not suitable for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

Featuring a screw cap, each tube includes a graduation indicating the filling quantity and a labeling area for content identification. The 50 mL tubes measure 116 mm in height with a 30 mm diameter, and have an operational temperature range from -86 °C to +100 °C. The tubes are not autoclavable and must not be used with liquid nitrogen; before use they should be stored in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight and UV light. Aqueous samples may be stored at low temperatures at 80 % of the filling volume, equal to 40 mL.

Sterile (Ph. Eur./USP), pyrogen-free (endotoxin-free), DNase-free, RNase-free, DNA-free, colorless, and free of detectable slip agents, plasticizers, and biocides, the tubes carry a large writing area for accurate labeling and a cap with flattened and grooved sides designed to minimize contamination and evaporation. Under specified conditions — centrifugation temperature 4 °C – 25 °C, centrifugation time 90 min, using suitable rotors and adapters with an aqueous solution of density 1.0 g/mL — the 50 mL tubes can be centrifuged at 19 500 × g.
