EHNA (HCl), 5 mg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies EHNA as the hydrochloride salt, provided as a racemic mixture. The compound is a reversible adenosine deaminase inhibitor (IC₅₀ = 1.2 μM in human red blood cells) that also selectively inhibits cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase (PDE2), with reported IC₅₀ values of 2 μM in pig myocardium, 3.5 μM in rat hepatocyte, and 5.5 μM in human platelet.

The product is a crystalline solid with ≥ 95% purity, a molecular weight of 313.8 g/mol, and is referenced under CAS 58337-38-5, also known as NSC 263164 or erythro-9-(2-Hydroxy-3-nonyl)adenine. It is stable at -20°C as supplied, should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, and remains stable for 12 months from the date of receipt. Reported solubility is ≤ 95 mM in DMSO and ≤ 60 mM in absolute ethanol, with low solubility in aqueous media. Stock solutions should be prepared fresh before use; for cell culture applications, stock should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use, keeping the final DMSO concentration below 0.1% to minimise potential cell toxicity.
