A phosphodiesterase inhibitor supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a crystalline solid. It acts as a bi-directional nucleoside transport inhibitor that inhibits the phosphodiesterase (PDE) family of enzymes (PDE8 IC50 = 9 μM). PDE is an enzyme that breaks down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), secondary messengers involved in a variety of signal transduction pathways. The compound also inhibits the uptake of adenosine in platelets, red blood cells, and endothelial cells, which can lead to an increase in extracellular concentration of adenosine and intracellular cAMP.

The product has a chemical formula of C24H40N8O4, a molecular weight of 504.6 g/mol, and a purity of ≥ 98%. Alternative names include NSC 515776 and NSC 619103, with CAS Number 58-32-2. It is soluble in DMSO (≤ 55 mM) and absolute ethanol (≤ 9.9 mM). The compound is stable at -20°C as supplied, and STEMCELL recommends storing it away from direct light.
