It is also known by the synonym CT 99021 and is supplied as a crystalline solid intended for laboratory use (S1).

The full chemical name is 6-[[2-[[4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-pyrimidinyl]amino]ethyl]amino]-3-pyridinecarbonitirile, with CAS Number 252917-06-9 (S1). The molecule has a molecular weight of 465.3 and a molecular formula of C22H18Cl2N8 (S1). Reported solubility is approximately 2.5 mg/mL in DMSO and approximately 1.4 mg/mL in PBS at pH 7.2 (S1). It is stable under normal conditions but should be kept away from strong acids and strong oxidizing agents (S1).

When used in combination with IWR-1-endo, this molecule has been reported to promote self-renewal and maintain pluripotency of human embryonic stem cells and mouse epiblast stem cells (S2). The compound is classified as fatal if swallowed and may cause skin irritation, serious eye irritation, and respiratory irritation (S1). It carries UN/ID number UN2811 and should be stored locked up in a well-ventilated place with the container tightly closed (S1).
