CFU Assay Course-UK-Summer

The CFU Assay Course from STEMCELL Technologies is an intensive hands-on training program held in the United Kingdom during the summer months. This professional development course focuses on the colony-forming unit (CFU) assay methodology used in hematopoietic stem cell research and cell culture applications.

Participants learn to perform methylcellulose-based colony assays, identify and enumerate different progenitor cell types including CFU-GM, BFU-E, and CFU-GEMM, and interpret colony morphology under microscopy. The curriculum covers specimen preparation, cell plating techniques, culture incubation at 37 °C with 5% CO2, and standardized counting procedures aligned with published best practices.

Trainees also receive instruction on quality control, troubleshooting common assay artifacts, and proper documentation for research records. The program is intended for research scientists, laboratory technicians, graduate students, and clinical research personnel working in hematology, immunology, or cell therapy development.
