AKT Inhibitor VIII, 10 mg

A cell-permeable, reversible small-molecule inhibitor supplied by STEMCELL Technologies that selectively targets Akt1, Akt2, and Akt3 kinase isoforms. This compound, also referenced as API-2 or Triciribine (CAS 35943-35-2), blocks Akt signaling by binding to the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, preventing membrane recruitment and PDK1-mediated phosphorylation at Thr308, thereby suppressing downstream mTOR and GSK-3β activity in cell culture.

Common applications include in vitro PI3K/Akt pathway dissection, apoptosis induction assays, and combination studies with chemotherapeutics or other pathway inhibitors in breast, prostate, ovarian, and hematological malignancy models. The 10 mg vial is supplied as a research reagent in a single-use format. Reconstitute in DMSO to prepare stock solutions, aliquot, and store frozen at -20°C protected from light; limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
