ThawSTAR CFT2 Confirmation Vials, 20 Pk

STEMCELL Technologies confirmation vials are intended for use before and after each thaw session to document instrument performance and maintain an audit trail when working with the ThawSTAR® CFT2 Automated Thawing System. They support installation, operational, and performance qualification documentation and accessories for functional testing of the thawing system.

Each vial is a sterile, self-standing, round-bottom, internally threaded polypropylene cryogenic vial with cap. Manufacturer data illustrate comparable cell recovery and viability when frozen samples cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 are thawed using the system compared with a water bath. For peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) cryopreserved at 3 x 10^7 cells/vial and retrieved from liquid nitrogen one week after storage, the mean live cell recovery was 2.78 x 10^7 cells using the system versus 2.96 x 10^7 cells with a water bath, and mean viability was 92.8% versus 93.9%. For monocytes cryopreserved at 2 x 10^7 cells/vial, mean live cell recovery was 2.05 x 10^7 versus 1.89 x 10^7 cells and mean viability was 95% versus 94.6%. For human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) cryopreserved at 1 x 10^6 cells/vial, mean live cell recovery was 9.05 x 10^5 versus 9.35 x 10^5 cells and mean viability was 83.04% versus 82.93%. Samples were from 3 different donors or cell lines and tested in triplicates, with recovery and viability assessed using a Nucleoview counter.
