A centrifugal real-time PCR thermocycler engineered by QIAGEN for high-resolution melt analysis and multiplex detection across infectious disease workflows. The rotor-based platform spins a 72-position rotor of 0.2 mL tubes, delivering uniform thermal control to every sample without edge-effect bias that plagues block-based instruments.

Five optical excitation and emission channels allow simultaneous interrogation of up to five targets per reaction, while the dedicated HRM channel resolves subtle melt-curve shifts down to single-nucleotide variants. Typical reaction volumes of 20–25 µL per tube keep reagent consumption modest. Channel coverage spans roughly 470 nm through 680 nm, accommodating common fluorophores such as FAM, HEX, ROX, Cy5, and Quasar dyes.

Run setup, melt-curve analysis, and allelic discrimination are handled through Q-Rex software, with export options compatible with downstream LIMS pipelines. The instrument is widely deployed for viral load quantification, bacterial strain genotyping, SNP discrimination, methylation profiling, and pathogen identification in clinical and research laboratories.
