Ribonuclease H from QIAGEN is an endoribonuclease that selectively hydrolyzes the RNA strand within RNA-DNA hybrid duplexes while leaving the complementary DNA strand intact. Provided at 1250 U per vial, this enzyme supports second-strand cDNA synthesis during reverse transcription workflows and is used to remove RNA primers or residual RNA contamination ahead of PCR amplification. It functions efficiently at 37°C in standard reaction conditions and is compatible with downstream enzymatic steps such as nick translation and template preparation for sequencing. The enzyme is supplied as a single-use aliquot-ready vial and should be stored frozen at -20°C, with minimal exposure to repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. Recommended for molecular biology research applications including in vitro transcript mapping, removal of poly(A) tails from RNA-DNA hybrids, and controlled degradation of RNA in hybrid substrates.
