Description
A proteolytic enzyme from QIAGEN, supplied as a ready-to-use 20 mg/mL solution with activity exceeding 600 mAU/mL. The broad-spectrum subtilisin-related serine protease, derived from Parengyodontium album (Tritirachium album), is expressed as a recombinant 28.9 kDa enzyme in Komagataella phaffii (Pichia pastoris).
It cleaves peptide bonds adjacent to the carboxyl group of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids and tolerates SDS, urea, and EDTA, since soluble calcium is not essential for activity. The enzyme remains active between 50–65°C across a pH range of 7.5–12.0, efficiently digesting proteins including DNases and RNases during nucleic acid isolation without compromising DNA or RNA integrity.
Each lot is tested against predetermined specifications under QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System. The product is stable for up to 1 year after delivery when stored dry at room temperature (15–25°C); storage at 2–8°C is recommended to prolong shelf life. It is classified as a PCR/NAT protease reagent IVD for prescription use in laboratory applications.
