QIAxpert, System

Quantification and sizing of DNA and RNA in approximately 5 minutes per run are delivered by the QIAxpert System from QIAGEN, a benchtop microfluidic capillary electrophoresis instrument that pairs a 260 nm photometric channel with an electrophoretic separation lane on a single disposable cartridge.

Up to 12 samples are processed in parallel, requiring only 1-2 µL of sample per well, with results streamed to QIAxpert Manager software through the integrated touchscreen for archiving and downstream review.

Paired with the QIAxpert DNA High Sensitivity Kit, fragments between 50 bp and 8000 bp are resolved at a sensitivity of 0.5 ng/µL, supporting QC of NGS library preparations, PCR products, and restriction digests. The standard QIAxpert DNA Kit covers 50-1500 bp at 5 ng/µL sensitivity, while the QIAxpert RNA Kit resolves total RNA and RNA ladders from 100 bp to 9000 nt.

Ready-to-run cartridges eliminate manual gel preparation, and built-in reagents within the cartridge stream minimize hands-on steps compared with traditional agarose workflows, making the platform well suited to genomics, molecular biology, and translational research laboratories.
