QIAxpert, Priority, Basic, no PM

The QIAxpert system from QIAGEN is a compact UV/VIS spectrophotometer built around rapid nucleic acid and protein quantification. It uses proprietary microslide technology in place of traditional cuvettes, requiring only 1–2 µL of sample per measurement. This slide-based workflow removes the need for routine dilutions and limits sample waste in busy genomics labs.

Operating across a wavelength range of roughly 230–750 nm, the instrument returns results in about 5 seconds per read. Dual path lengths of 0.1 mm and 1 mm let users record absorbance directly on concentrated preparations, supporting dsDNA quantification from approximately 2 ng/µL up to 1500 ng/µL on the high-sensitivity slide without intermediate dilution steps.

An integrated touchscreen, onboard calculations, and connectivity to QIAGEN's GeneGlobe analysis platform streamline routine workflows. The xenon-flash light source eliminates warm-up time, and absorbance data can be exported for downstream analysis. Typical applications include research-use DNA/RNA quantification, purity assessment via A260/A280 ratios, and quality control of nucleic acid extracts before downstream PCR or sequencing reactions.

This Priority, Basic, no PM configuration bundles the core instrument with a priority service tier but excludes a preventive-maintenance contract, making it a practical match for laboratories that already manage their own instrument upkeep while still expecting accelerated response times from QIAGEN support.
