Description

This high-performance real-time PCR thermal cycler from QIAGEN is configured with a 2plex detection system and a 96-well silver sample block with gold coating, compatible with standard SBS plates, strips, and tubes. It is designed for quantitative PCR applications such as gene expression analysis, genotyping, and pathogen detection, combining a fast fiber-optic shuttle detection system with rapid thermal cycling to deliver quick and sensitive read-out of amplification products.

The optical system supports multiplexing of 2 targets through two color modules. The blue channel (excitation 465±15 nm, detection 524±12 nm) detects fluorophores such as FAM, SYBR Green, and EvaGreen, while the green channel (excitation 510±15 nm, detection 565±15 nm) detects JOE, HEX, and VIC. A full 96-well plate is read out in 6 seconds. Sensitivity is specified at 1 nmol/l FAM at 30 µl sample volume, with a dynamic range of 10 log stages. Illumination is provided by four high-intensity LEDs (blue, green, white, red), with detection by a photomultiplier (PMT).

The motorized heated lid is adjustable from 30°C to 110°C. The block operates from 3°C to 99°C, with a maximum heating rate of 8°C/s, a maximum cooling rate of 6°C/s, and temperature uniformity of ±0.15°C at 55°C, ±0.25°C at 72°C, and ±0.50°C at 95°C. A gradient function spans 40°C in 0.1°C steps. Sample volumes range from 5–100 µl (10–80 µl recommended), and the fast cycling time is down to 30 minutes. The instrument is operated via touchscreen and/or PC, supports analysis methods including absolute quantification, relative quantification, ΔΔCt method, allelic discrimination, efficiency calculation, DNA melting curves, and POS/NEG end-point analysis, and exports data to Excel, CSV, LIMS, GenEx, and qBase. This configuration is supplied with a 230 V power specification.
