Description

This high-performance real-time PCR thermal cycler from QIAGEN is offered as the QIAquant 384 5plex, configured for 115 V power and designed for high-throughput quantitative workflows. It combines a 384-well block format with five-channel fluorescence detection, enabling multiplex detection of up to five targets per run with a fast cycling time down to 30 minutes. Up to 384 samples are accommodated per block, and the system is operated via PC.

The instrument features an aluminum sample block of special alloy with a motorized heated lid adjustable from 30°C to 110°C. Sample volume ranges from 2–30 µl (5 to 20 µl recommended), and the supported consumable is the 384-well PCR plate with optical sealing film. Thermal performance includes a temperature range of 3–99°C, a gradient of 25°C in 0.1°C steps, and minimum heating rate adjustment of 0.1°C/s. Maximum heating rate reaches 4°C/s (average 3.8°C/s) and maximum cooling rate reaches 2°C/s (average 1.7°C/s). Block uniformity is specified at ±0.25°C at 72°C and ±0.50°C at 95°C, 15 seconds after starting the clock.

Detection is enabled by a fast fiber-optic shuttle system with a 6-second read-out time for the entire plate regardless of the number of filters used. The optical system uses four high-intensity LEDs (blue, green, white, red) and a photomultiplier (PMT) detector, with sensitivity of 1 nmol/l FAM at 30 µl sample volume and a dynamic range spanning 10 log stages. Analysis methods include absolute quantification, relative quantification, ΔΔCt, allelic discrimination, efficiency calculation, DNA melting curves, and POS/NEG end-point analysis. Export functions support Excel, CSV, LIMS, GenEx, and qBase.
