QIAgility HEPA / UV (w/o PC) System

A compact benchtop workstation from QIAGEN, the QIAgility HEPA / UV (w/o PC) System enables rapid, high-precision automated PCR setup. This configuration is supplied without a personal computer and is operated via a laptop computer for flexibility. A preinstalled dual-cartridge HEPA filter supplies positive pressure clean air within the closed hood, and a preinstalled UV lamp supports worktable decontamination, helping to minimise contamination risk during sensitive assays.

Liquid handling is performed by a single-channel pipetting head with a tip volume range of 1–200 µl, working with 50 µl and 200 µl conductive filtered tips. Liquid-level sensing delivers a minimum detection volume of 10 µl in 200 µl PCR tubes. Quoted precision is CV <1% for 5–200 µl (dry-well transfer), CV <5% for 2–5 µl (wet-well transfer), and CV <10% at 1 µl. All used tips are ejected externally, so waste does not accumulate on the worktable.

The worktable offers 6 SBS positions (127.76 × 85.48 mm) for adapters and tip rack holders, plus a Master Mix Block and a Reagent Block, allowing flexible layouts that accommodate a wide variety of plates, tubes and cyclers. For example, 96 samples with the QuantiFast SYBR Green PCR Kit with two standard series can be set up in approximately 45 minutes. Communications are via USB and RS232. The unit operates on 100–240 V AC at 250 VA, 50–60 Hz, weighs 41 kg (90.2 lb), and measures 45 cm high with the lid closed (86 cm open), 54 cm wide and 63 cm deep. The QIAgility Setup Manager Software is supplied with an unlimited user license and offers free web-download upgrades.
