PyroMark Q48 Autoprep

A benchtop pyrosequencing platform from QIAGEN, the PyroMark Q48 Autoprep combines automated sample preparation with quantitative, real-time DNA sequencing-by-synthesis. Manufactured in Germany, it integrates with PyroMark Q48 sequencing instruments to streamline end-to-end workflows, reducing hands-on time and improving consistency for applications such as mutation analysis, SNP genotyping and DNA methylation studies.

The instrument accepts 0.5–2 pmol biotinylated PCR product as sample input and delivers a read length of 160–180 bp, enabling allele-specific quantification of DNA methylation, SNPs, indels and short tandem variants. Throughput reaches 48 samples per run, with a 1–2% error rate for mutation quantification and a runtime of ≤60 minutes for a full 48-sample mutation sequence analysis. Compatible templates include genomic DNA, FFPE-derived DNA and bisulfite-converted DNA, with amplicon sizes typically within an 80–220 bp range.

The platform measures 250×300×300 mm (W×D×H) and weighs 8.5 kg, operating on 100–240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. It supports regulated environments through audit trails, role-based access control and electronic signatures compatible with 21 CFR Part 11 when paired with PyroMark Q48 Software v2.0 or later, with CSV, Excel and XML export formats for LIMS integration.
