The QIAGEN QPAC Pneumatic Manifold provides regulated vacuum pressure for parallel nucleic acid purification workflows in molecular biology laboratories. As a bench-top accessory, the unit serves as the connection hub between QIAGEN vacuum pumps and laboratory consumables, accepting single spin columns, luer-lock filter units, and multi-well plates.
Pneumatic force replaces manual centrifugation during the binding, washing, and elution stages of silica-membrane extraction protocols. Operators routinely use this manifold for genomic DNA cleanup, plasmid miniprep, RNA isolation, and PCR product recovery. The system handles elution volumes from 30 to 200 uL, and quick-release fittings allow rapid switching between column-based and plate-based formats without breaking the vacuum line.
The manifold body is molded from solvent-resistant polymers that tolerate chaotropic lysis buffers, guanidine hydrochloride washes, and ethanol rinses commonly found in molecular biology extraction kits. An integrated pressure regulator helps users reproduce validated vacuum settings between runs. Connections accept standard laboratory vacuum tubing, and the unit works with disposable columns as well as reusable filter plate holders for higher-throughput workflows.
