Automated nucleic acid isolation workstation that walks away from manual pipetting and delivers purified DNA or RNA in roughly 20 to 40 minutes per run. The QIAGEN EZ1 Advanced XL processes up to 14 samples per run on a clear color touch-screen, with prefilled reagent cartridges that contain all buffers, magnetic particles, and enzymes for the chosen protocol. Built-in UV decontamination and disposable filter tips protect against carry-over between runs, which is critical for clinical diagnostics work such as viral load monitoring, respiratory pathogen detection, and human identification samples processed in forensic laboratories. Operators select from pre-programmed protocols for whole blood, buffy coat, tissue, swabs, urine, serum, and plasma, and the system supports downstream applications including PCR, sequencing, and genotyping. The compact benchtop footprint, integrated barcode reader for sample tracking, and optional XL Kit drawer make it a workhorse for medium-to-high throughput molecular labs in hospital, public health, and research settings. Each run uses a single use cartridge pack of sealed vials, so on-board preparation is limited to loading the samples and pressing start.
