DiagCORE® Analytical Module

The DiagCORE® Analytical Module from QIAGEN is a fully automated, sample-to-answer molecular diagnostics workstation built for clinical laboratories handling infectious disease testing. It consolidates specimen preparation, nucleic acid extraction, multiplex PCR amplification, and result interpretation inside a single benchtop enclosure, removing the need for separate extraction rooms or manual pipetting steps between workstations.

Each run uses closed, single-use cartridges preloaded with all reagents needed for lyophilized PCR, so operators only insert the primary sample tube. The system supports random-access loading, meaning new specimens can be queued while existing tests are running, and it delivers results in roughly one to two hours depending on the assay protocol. Internal controls monitor each cartridge for inhibition and reagent integrity before a clinical result is reported.

Key applications include respiratory pathogen panels, sexually transmitted infection screening, gastrointestinal pathogen detection, and emerging infectious disease surveillance, with assay menus delivered through QIAGEN's IDXP portfolio. The platform integrates positive sample tracking, automated result interpretation, and bidirectional LIS connectivity, streamlining clinical workflows from order entry to final report.

The module is operated through a touchscreen interface and stores cycle data onboard for later review. It runs on standard 100-240 V power and fits in BSL-2 laboratory benchtop installations, with cartridge waste collected in a sealed compartment for safe disposal.
