100 bp DNA Ladder Ready to Load

A ready-to-load molecular weight marker from Solis BioDyne, formulated for accurate DNA fragment size determination during agarose gel electrophoresis. The marker is designed to run accurately and to provide crisp band patterns. It contains bromophenol blue dye, which serves as a visual aid to monitor the progress of migration on the gel, and comprises 13 discrete DNA fragments ranging from 100 bp to 3,000 bp.

The product is supplied as a liquid solution at a concentration of 0.1 µg/µl in a storage buffer of 10 mM EDTA, 10% glycerol, 0.015% bromophenol blue and 0.17% SDS. For best results, the manufacturer recommends loading 5–10 µl of the ladder per well. Example run conditions include a 1% agarose gel in 1xTBE at 150 V for a minimum of 45 minutes, or a 2% agarose gel in 1xTBE at 130–150 V for a minimum of 2 hours. The solution is blue with a pH of 7.0–9.0. Routine storage is at -18ºC to -28ºC, and shipping or temporary storage for up to 1 month at room temperature has no detrimental effects on product quality.

The product is manufactured by Solis BioDyne under an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified Quality Management System and is intended for in vitro research use only. According to the safety data sheet, the mixture is not classified as hazardous under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, although standard laboratory precautions — including suitable protective clothing, gloves and safety glasses — are advised when handling it.
