100 bp DNA Ladder Ready to Load

Solis BioDyne supplies a ready-to-use molecular weight marker designed for DNA fragment size determination on gel electrophoresis. The 100 bp DNA Ladder is formulated to run accurately and to provide crisp band patterns, and it contains bromophenol blue dye, which serves as a visual aid to monitor the progress of migration during agarose gel electrophoresis.

The ladder contains 13 discrete DNA fragments ranging from 100 bp to 3,000 bp and is supplied at a concentration of 0.1 µg/µl. For best results, 5–10 µl of the ladder should be loaded per well. Example run conditions include 1% agarose in 1xTBE at 150 V for a minimum of 45 minutes, or 2% agarose in 1xTBE at 130–150 V for a minimum of 2 hours. The choice of voltage, time, buffer and agarose percentage in the gel is adjustable.

The storage solution is composed of 10 mM EDTA, 10% glycerol, 0.015% bromophenol blue and 0.17% SDS. Routine storage is at -18ºC to -28ºC, and shipping or temporary storage for up to 1 month at room temperature has no detrimental effect on product quality.
