1 kb DNA Ladder Ready to Load

A ready-to-use molecular weight marker from Solis BioDyne, supplied pre-mixed with loading dyes for direct application to agarose gels. The ladder is formulated to run accurately and to provide crisp band patterns, and is designed for DNA fragment size determination on gel electrophoresis. It contains two tracking dyes — bromophenol blue and xylene cyanol — that serve as a visual aid to monitor migration progress during the run. The product resolves 13 discrete DNA fragments ranging from 300 bp to 10,000 bp at a concentration of 0.1 µg/µl.

For best results, 5–10 µl of the ladder should be loaded per well. Suggested run conditions are 150 V for a minimum of 45 minutes on a 1% agarose gel in 1×TBE, or 130–150 V for a minimum of 2 hours on a 2% agarose gel in 1×TBE. The ladder is provided in a storage solution containing 10 mM EDTA, 10% glycerol, 0.015% bromophenol blue, 0.015% xylene cyanol and 0.17% SDS. Routine storage is at –18 °C to –28 °C, and temporary storage at room temperature for up to 1 month has no detrimental effect on quality.
