UCP Multiplex PCR Kit (100)

This QIAGEN kit delivers a ready-to-use master mix formulation for highly sensitive and specific multiplex hot-start PCR using any DNA or cDNA template. The Ultra-Clean Production process depletes potential DNA background to a minimum, with components tested for bacterial and fungal DNA using generic PCR assays for 16S and 18S rRNA coding sequences. A hot-start mechanism keeps the DNA Polymerase inactive at low temperatures via an antibody and a novel Guard additive, with full activation following a 2-minute incubation at 95°C, allowing reaction setup without ice.

Key features include integrated orange and blue tracer dyes for visual pipetting controls, a fast cycling protocol, room-temperature stability during and after reaction setup, and a 4x concentrated master mix format. The kit offers high inhibitor resistance and minimized GC bias, suiting it to microbiome applications such as 16S or 18S amplification, microbial testing, quality control, metagenome analysis and sequencing, genotyping and genetic testing workflows. The protocol is optimized for 0.1 pg–1 μg of total DNA, using a 20 µl reaction volume. The kit is shipped on dry ice and should be stored at –15 to –30°C; the master mix can alternatively be stored at 2–8°C for up to 6 months.
