Type-it Fast SNP Probe PCR Kit (800)

Designed by QIAGEN for accurate and reliable SNP genotyping using TaqMan® or TaqMan MGB probes, this master mix kit is based on HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase together with a dedicated SNP genotyping PCR buffer system. The 2x master mix format enables fast reaction setup at room temperature and supports highly specific amplification, even with low template amounts.

The kit includes the Type-it Fast SNP Probe PCR Buffer, which contains the proprietary Q-Bond Molecule to shorten cycling times, and Q-Solution, which tightens clusters and improves signals for highly GC-rich or otherwise difficult SNP loci. ROX dye is included in the master mix at a concentration compatible with Applied Biosystems instruments and other platforms that do not require ROX as a passive reference dye. HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase is supplied inactive at ambient temperatures and is activated by a 5-minute 95°C incubation step, reducing the formation of misprimed products and primer dimers.

Functionally validated for probe-based SNP genotyping with genomic DNA, the kit provides wide separation of genotype clusters, tight allele clustering, and high call rates. It supports both real-time and endpoint detection, exhibits 5'→3' exonuclease activity, and is compatible with sequence-specific probes including TaqMan® Genotyping Assays, TaqMan® probes, and TaqMan® MGB probes. Reported performance includes PCR run times reduced by up to 40% compared with standard protocols. Compatible real-time cyclers include the QIAGEN Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems PRISM 7900 (all series), StepOne and StepOne Plus, 7500 (all series), and ViiA 7, Bio-Rad iCycler iQ and CFX series, Roche LightCycler 480 and LightCycler Nano, and Agilent Mx3000P and Mx3005P, with standard and fast-ramping cyclers such as the GeneAmp 9700 and GeneAmp 9800 also supported in compatible optical plate formats.
